The 2017 edition of U.S. News and World Report’s Best Graduate Schools guidebook, released today, highly ranks the University of California, San Diego’s professional schools and programs in engineering and medicine.

UC San Diego is No. 14 on the Peace Corps Top Colleges List

The University of California, San Diego has been ranked 14th nationally among large schools on the 2016 Peace Corps list of colleges and universities that produce the most Peace Corps Volunteers, moving up one spot from last year. This marks the sixth consecutive year that UC San Diego has been named in the organization’s top 15 rankings and the 10th straight year that the campus has appeared in the top 25.

UC San Diego Receives Record 84,198 Freshman and 18,480 Transfer Applications for Fall 2016

The University of California, San Diego has received a record total of 102,678 freshman and transfer applications for fall 2016. The university had the second highest number of applicants among the University of California campuses.

UC San Diego Named Among Nation’s Most Ethnically Diverse Colleges

The University of California, San Diego has been named the 11th most ethnically diverse college in the nation, according to a new report. Best College Reviews, a ranking service for American colleges and universities, recently released a list of the top 50 ethnically diverse schools.  Statistics and definitions of race/ethnicity for the list were gathered from the National Center for Education Statistics, Diverse Issues in Higher Education and school websites. According to the report, UC San Diego looks at diversity as an opportunity for education.

Region’s Indigenous Cultures Commemorated at UC San Diego Native American Celebrations

The theme for the University of California, San Diego’s 10th annual California Native American Day celebration is “Unsettled Stories: Reclaiming This Land,” and will include a kickoff event Sept. 25 as well as an undergraduate research symposium, a Native American film festival, spoken word performances, a powwow and more throughout the 2015-16 academic year.

For the sixth consecutive year, the University of California, San Diego has been ranked the number one university in the nation by Washington Monthly for its contributions to the public good. The magazine released its 2015 College Guide today, an annual issue that takes a different approach to ranking the nation’s colleges and universities.
